Why the Boeing MD-80 called mad dog?
Each Iam a forum for worldwide aviation refers to the MD-80 as the rabid dog. How achieve this level nick name
This comes from the initials "MD", referring, of course, McDonald-Douglas, the manufacturer. The people working in it (especially the ground support workers) more affectionately know as the mad dog. It's a pain to work with 6 cargo compartments coffins.
