Metal castings or forgings, etc?
Can melt 4130 steel, aircraft and pour into a mold, and how it could make a Halligan bar with steel. (a Halligan bar is a common tool used by firefighters, look on Wikipedia.) I build the ends of a Halligan bar? What type of steel that I need, I mean, either smooth rods or rods or plates. Thanks any help will be greatly appreciated. Well, do not yield an Halligan bar, from the bulk grain and the porosity inherent in a casting, is not good to break the application. Forge, beginning with round or rectangular stock, made much sense to me. If we are to deal with heat (which is probably a good idea), I advise you of the alloy, as the 4130, otherwise mild steel will. Chat with your local blacksmiths, iron working, or metal probably wise, because they can offer plenty of advice, if you are serious about making your decision.
