Maybe the jet lag is the culprit. The crossing time zones during the trip is only one cause. Some advance knowledge and preparation can lead to a trip more enjoyable.

The main causes of Jet Lag

• Crossing two or more time zones: What's worse flights to the east because it has to adapt to an hour before.
• Lack of sleep before traveling.
• The physical exhaustion to do too much, too Suddenly, just before his departure.
• Dehydration: air planes is very dry. Drink plenty of water (not pop, coffee or tea). Some people take their water bottle with them (if allowed by your airline).
• The disruption of normal body wake / sleep schedule (circadian rhythm).
• Alcohol use: Alcohol contributes to dehydration. At altitude, the effects of alcohol are multiplied several times.
• Polluted air: air aircraft is not as oxygenated as outdoor air. It smells and tiny particles of passengers, crew, baggage and aircraft.
• Inactivity and lack of exercise.
• Climate change.

Possible symptoms of Jet Lag

• Reflexes slow – particularly dangerous driving
• The slowness of thought processes – resulting in bad decisions
• Sleep Disorders
• Lack of appetite
• Headaches
• Irritation of the sinuses
• Gastrointestinal disorders caused by food and water family
• Fatigue
• Anxiety
• Disorientation
• Irritability
• Swelling of the extremities (feet and especially the lower legs)
• Sweating

Coping with Jet Lag

• Acclimatize before you go. If possible and if possible, schedule your meals and waking the new time zone a day or two ahead.
• Do not all suitcases until the last minute.
• Make sure you get a good night before heading.
• Choose flights to make sure you can arrive early for activities such as business meetings. Target for flight day (both directions).
• Set your watch to the new time zone as soon as the plane.
• Manage your drug use.
• Drink bottled (non-local) water.
• Avoid salads or foods that have been washed with local water. This helps to prevent diarrhea – which can contribute to dehydration.
• Get up and move instead of sitting in the chair for long periods of time.
• Wear shoes half a size larger to accommodate swollen feet.
• Once you arrive, not spend all day locked indoors. Go in the sun and fresh air.
• Take a hot shower before bedtime. This helps your body temperature circadian Retune. The temperature drop after exiting the shower, you start to feel sleepy.
• Schedule appointments when it is most likely to rest.

Everyone is different

• State Recovery time usually takes about a day to the time zone.
• Some People are more adaptable than other symptoms and have very "little jet lag. Almost always the children do better than adults.
• The more "relaxed" are on schedule and daily routines, are more likely to cope well with the jetlag.
